The "SMART 1541" drive is the most compact cycle-exact 1541 drive in the world, which plugs into the serial port of the Commodore 64. It can be powered in two different ways: either via the side board attached to the TAPE port, or via USB (in which case the side board is not needed and can be removed).

Disk images can be loaded using the built-in SD card or the USB-C port. Matching software includes a file management utility for a cartridge (PRG or Magic Desk), as well as a client program for macOS, Linux, and Windows (featuring drag-and-drop image handling).

To change disks, use the top button on the board. Six LEDs below the button indicate which game/demo disk nr is currently active (1 to 6). To the left and right are two additional LEDs: one red LED and one green LED (Power / Disk activity).
