The 6526 CIA was developed from scratch. Designed for the highest possible functional compatibility, it was thoroughly tested using a 48-channel logic analyzer. In extensive tests, no abnormalities were observed.
Further chip replicas that I started in 2022 will follow, as well as replica chips for other consoles and computers.
The 6526 Replica comes fully soldered, making it plug & play and ready for immediate use.
Availability Note: "To ensure the high quality of this public domain project, the source code and hardware designs are currently being prepared and finalized for release. Full access to all data will be made available to the public (and thus to all buyers) for free later in 2027 (as usual on the wiki page). The hardware, of course, is already fully operational."
