The 6502 CPU was used by Apple, among others, and has been redeveloped from scratch. Designed for maximum functional compatibility, it has been thoroughly tested using a 48-channel analyzer. In extensive tests, no abnormalities were observed.
Further chip replicas, which I started in 2022, will follow, along with replica chips for other consoles and computers.
The 6502 replica comes pre-soldered and is delivered ready for immediate, plug-and-play use.
Availability Note: “To ensure the high quality of this public-domain project, the source codes and hardware designs are currently still being prepared and finalized for release. Full access to the data will be made available to the public (and thus all buyers) free of charge during the course of 2027 (as usual on the wiki page). The hardware itself is, of course, already fully operational.”
